Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
When you start anything in life with the end in mind, you have a clearer vision of what you want to accomplish and how to fulfill that goal. |
A few years ago I had the privilege of working with the 7 habits by Stephen R. Covey. They opened my eyes to a new paradigm, or a new point of view through which to view the world. In each training, the presenters encouraged us to write our own mission statements. I sat down many times with a blank paper trying to determine what I valued most for myself, my family, and my profession and put it into one statement. It seemed nearly impossible because I wasn't beginning with an end in mind; I was so focused on what I wanted to happen at the moment.
